The Ultimate Star Wars Guide to Buying a Home

The Ultimate Star Wars Guide to Buying a HomeThe Ultimate Star Wars Guide to Buying a HomeWhen it comes to buying a house, many questions there are. You’ll want to make sure that you try to answer them as quickly and as clearly as you can so that you can make the best decision. If you’re a Star Wars fan, here is some advice that can help you complete your training as a home buyer.

Listen To Your Jedi Master

Quality real estate agents have been around the block a few times. They are well-trained in the process of finding a house that will meet your needs. Make sure you choose an experienced agent who knows your area well so they can help you avoid problem areas in your home search. Like Yoda or Mace Windu, your agent will give you the advice you need to make a good decision. Trust in them and you are sure to find the house of your dreams.

Trust Your Feelings

Patience you must have, young padawan. When undergoing training with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker is told to trust his feelings. If a house feels wrong, there’s probably a good reason for it. Trust your feelings before you make a bad mistake and purchase a home that’s wrong for your family.

Avoid The Outer Rim

There are all sorts of problems that arise in the Outer Rim. Remember the epic battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi in Revenge of the Sith? This is where Darth Vader is born, and loses all of his remaining appendages and gets his black mechanical suit in Revenge of the Sith. Not pretty. Look for a home in a desirable area that will retain its value & will bring you a good return on your investment when it is time to sell. You will also want to look for a property that is a reasonable distance from your job. By buying a house that’s far from where you’re going to do most of your business, you’ll likely waste lots of money on transportation.

Use The Force

When you go to buy a house, it can pay to use a few Jedi mind tricks. This is not the time to rush and start throwing out the highest offer. Take a deep breath and listen to the Force (and your Jedi Master). Don’t make your best offer your first offer. Bidding to your advantage is a big key to making a good buy, although we wouldn’t recommend waving your hand and telling the seller that this isn’t the price he’s looking for.

Avoid Buying A Death Star

You want to avoid buying a house that has a glaring weakness. If we’ve learned anything from the Star Wars universe, even one small X-wing can blow up a space station. Your Jedi Master will know about homes that have sold in the past that had issues and may now be up for re-sale. Also make sure you hire an impartial home inspection company. An impartial home inspector is less likely to have any interest in the sale of the home and will give you the most comprehensive and unbiased report. If your inspector comes back with a bad report, you might just want to walk away and have your Jedi Master find another option that will be better suited to your needs.
