Santa Claus Water Quality Report Now Online
The Town of Santa Claus posted its 2017 Water Quality Report online last week. The town tests levels for total chlorine, total coliform bacteria, lead, copper and asbestos fibers. They test other things in the water daily, of course at both the town water treatment plant and at the Patoka Lake Treatment Plant. They included all results in the report. They were please to report that the town had zero violations for water quality.
Besides the water quality report indicating no violations though, the town reminded residents that they can also check their own water for lead. See, home plumbing lines sometimes contain lead, but Santa Claus Utilities can’t control the materials you use in your own plumbing inside your own home. They did offer good advice though. If your water has been sitting for several hours, you can minimize any exposure by flushing your tap. To flush your tap, just turn the water on for at least 30 seconds before using the tap water for drinking or cooking.
