Dubois County Museum Celebrates Celestine’s 175th Anniversary April 8, 2018
Be sure to catch Dubois County Museum’s celebration for Celestine’s 175th Anniversary. The celebration goes from 1PM to 4PM Sunday, April 8. It’s set to be a relaxed event. All visitors can freely walk the 50,000 square feet of exhibits at their own leisure. Exhibits will be all over the museum.
For example, in Room 1, you’ll find information about German ancestry, the Sisters of St. Benedict, history of the farms and lands, and much more. In Room II, you’ll find exhibits focusing on cemetery tombstones, wildlife, woodworking, logging, and scouting. This room will also feature samples of food from Happy Hour Sports Bar and Grille, Kelley’s Bar, Sander Catering, and Sander Processing of Celestine. Plus, there will be cookies and other refreshments from St. Anne’s Sodality.
You’ll find exhibits from service clubs and organizations, and vote on the Senior King and Queen! There’s even going to be a petting zoo! Plus, go back in time to check out the 17 businesses from the 1900’s town. There will even be a school reunion in the One-Room schoolhouse!
Play your luck at the raffle, check out quilts and buy souvenirs too! Pam and Tom Spencer will entertain with old time music. Louise Neukam will also perform on her accordion. Visitors will receive a replica deed to the town of Celestine. So, be sure to join them at the Dubois County Museum!
