The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will extend its hours ahead of Election Day on November 5th and 6th in order to issue ID cards and drivers’ licenses needed for voting. Keep in mind, according to the news report below, polling locations will accept state-issued identification cards that expired after the last general election as proof for voting purposes. Still, the BMV issues ID cards for voting purposes to any unlicensed resident who is a U.S. citizen and can prove it. Plus, the individual must be older than or turning 18 by the next election.
Here are the extended hours:
- November 5th: 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- November 6th from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
For a list of documents you will need to prove your identity, check the BMV at: IN.gov/bmv
