Huntingburg Board of Public Works and Safety met last Thursday and approved applications for Community Crossings funding for three projects that will benefit Huntingburg.

Huntingburg Board of Public Works and Safety Approved Projects

The funding was approved for the following three projects:

  • $90,105.37 – Mill and pave 14th Street between U.S. 231 and Chestnut Street
  • $233,495.25 – Improve intersection of 14th and Chestnut streets (*** sidewalks, curb and gutter)
  • $54,842.85 – Pave Chestnut Street from 12th to 19th streets

Funding

The city’s funding is a 1/4 match for each of these three projects. It won’t be long for these projects to improve the city either. The 14th Street paving project and the intersection project are already in a place where they’re accepting bids. They’re moving fast, because it’s the last year that the Indiana Department of Transportation is accepting applications for reimbursing funds when projects are already in progress.
