In November of 2006, the Newburgh Town Council, in coordination with the American Legion Kapperman Post #44 and the citizens of Newburgh, the Newburgh Veterans Park was dedicated. The Veterans Park can be found in the northern part of town at the corner of State Street and Bell Road.

Then, in June of 2008, the Newburgh Veterans Monument was dedicated. The monument honors all veterans … past, present, and future. The monument itself was was designed by David Hynes of Commonwealth Engineers, Inc.. It was built by Republic Companies, Inc..
