In November of 2006, the Newburgh Town Council, in coordination with the American Legion Kapperman Post #44 and the citizens of Newburgh, the Newburgh Veterans Park was dedicated. The monument itself was was designed by David Hynes of Commonwealth Engineers, Inc.. It was built by Republic Companies, Inc..
