Dubois County Humane Society “Forget Me Not” Animals’ Adoption Fees Waived
The Dubois County Humane Society, a no-kill shelter in Jasper, operates a “Forget Me Not” program for dogs and cats who’ve been at the shelter for more than 90 days. This 501(c)3 nonprofit organization gets no tax dollars or public funding, so they normally rely on adoption fees, local donations and fundraisers. But when Fido is overlooked for too long by potential forever families, they waive the adoption fees. This helps animals find homes more quickly once they’ve been at the shelter for a few months.
Also, remember that the Dubois County Humane Society also operates a successful TNR program. The Dubois County TNR program spays, neuters, and vaccinates community cats. This is the same facility that won a $10,000 grant from the Dubois County Community Foundation after a public vote. See, we love our humane society in this county!
