The City of Jasper‘s common council is the legislative body within the city. So, the Common Council is the primary authority on municipal matters. All council members of the City of Jasper are elected officials. Consequently, it’s required that they are qualified electors. Plus, the rule say they must live within the City of Jasper, Indiana.

Five of them represent the district in which they live. See, the city has five districts. So, each council member represents his or her own district, with the exception of two At-Large members of the council. Altogether, the Jasper City Council has seven part-time council members.
