Jasper-Dubois County Public Library offers special features for teens and youth. Many of the features are available online or in any of the multiple branches included in the library system.
OverDrive for Jasper Area Teens
Young people who enjoy using their own devices download e-books, audio books, and magazines. The library allows Jasper area youth to download digital media to their own computers, tablets, and phones. Alternately, teens read e-books or listen to audio books directly from the library’s standard OverDrive website. Additionally, teens access an OverDrive specifically for youth. Plus, this media gets returned automatically. With this digital media, they avoid late fees!
Though eSequels only features adult series, many area teens enjoy this service. The library features eSequels so that adults and teens stay on top of books in their favorite series. Teens sometimes search this service by characters or location. Many use the service to find new material from a favorite author or rediscover a once-loved series from years before. Even if the reader only vaguely recalls the series, the search format helps the reader find the lost book!
The library also features or indexes reading lists and handy websites for teens in the community. Check out just a few featured on the library’s website:
- ALA best books for young adults
- Library Thing
- Reading Rants
- Teen Corner Book Reviews
