It’s Almost Time For Jasper’s Farmers’ Market Again! (Plus Fresh Bucks!)

The Jasper Farmers’ market season begins again on Memorial weekend. You’ll find the Jasper Farmers’ market every year for 20 weeks in front of the Train Depot at 3rd Avenue and Jackson Street.

In 2017 the Jasper Farmers’ Market introduced “Market Bucks” through a grant and community-driven program. Fresh Bucks will help provide food-insecure households more access to the farmers’ market, plus help local farmers! Fresh Bucks is limited to county residents only. Instead of green tokens, the Fresh Bucks are orange $2 tokens that can be used to buy produce or baked goods at the farmers’ market!

With Fresh Bucks we want to reach customers who are food-insecure and may shy away from the market because we do not participate in programs like SNAP or WIC. This program is funded by grants and the generosity of our community. As a result, it is limited to Dubois County residents.

These orange $2 tokens can be used to purchase any produce or baked goods from participating market vendors. They cannot be used toward the purchase of hot food items, beverages, or non-food items. Fresh bucks are being distributed to WIC right now, but WIC and SNAP recipients will be able to buy $10 Fresh Bucks at a half off discount at the market each Saturday.
