Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority’s H2O Program

The Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority offers several programs to first-time home buyers. The H2O program is applicable to anyone in non-targeted areas. Dubois County is not listed as a targeted area, so you’d have to be a first-time home buyer. There is one exception for non-targeted areas though: Eligible veterans are exempt from the first-time home buyer requirement. So, be sure to check the program out.

The Helping To Own (H2O) program is for FHA 30-Year fixed loans only and offers down payment assistance grants of 3.5 percent. This is a grant, so it does not have to be re-paid! Income limits do apply. Plus, you have to have a credit score of 660 or higher. It’s a great program for qualified buyers though.
