If you’re considering buying a home in Jasper, you’ll want to know where the best grocery stores are. Too many people shy away from Ruler Foods at first, thinking that as a discount store, the quality would be low, but it’s not. Similarly, people might not even venture into Holiday Foods, a locally owned grocery store at first. Locally-owned grocery stores tend to make new residents a little unsettled. These two grocery stores won’t let you down though. Here’s why social media users and online reviewers consistently say that Ruler Foods and Holiday Foods in Jasper are great grocery stores.
One of Jasper’s best grocery stores is Ruler Foods on East 30th St. It’s a discount grocery store, so the selection is smaller, but the prices are awesome and they do offer natural and organic food options. This is a favorite because it’s easy to get in and out of in a jiffy. Lines are fast and it’s never too crowded. Even though many consider it a discount store, the foods are high quality, even the meats.
One of the best grocery stores in Jasper is actually a local grocery store chain. In addition to the grocery store in Jasper, Holiday Foods has locations in Dale, Ferdinand, Haubstadt, New Salisbury, and Santa Claus. The Jasper store is located in Jasper Manor on 3rd Avenue. It is a true full service grocery store. Yes, they will even carry your groceries to your car for you, just like old style grocery stores would.
Holiday Foods & Groceries, Inc. was founded by Lloyd & Ruby Winkler in 1969. The first Holiday Foods was built in the Holly Plaza Shopping Center which is now known as Kringle Place. It was the first retail business to open in that plaza. In 2014, Holiday Foods & Groceries, Inc. became Holiday Foods LLC which is owned by Winkler Inc.. It remains locally owned and operated.
