Jasper-Area Adventure #1: Providence Home Geode Grotto

The geode grotto at Providence Home is one of the most magical places in Jasper. This hidden gem is located on the grounds of an assisted living facility, but it’s open to the public. You’ll find a small waterfall, a koi pond, and a beautiful collection of geodes.

Jasper-Area Adventure #2: West Baden Springs Hotel Library

Address: W Baden Ave, West Baden Springs, IN 47469

The West Baden Springs Hotel is a must-see for anyone visiting Jasper. The historic hotel is home to an impressive library with more than 20,000 books. It’s the perfect place to curl up with a good book on a rainy day. Even better, there are secret notes hidden in many of the books; you can hunt for them and even leave one yourself if you’d like. (Oh, and there’s a casino there if you’d like to test your luck, as well.)

Jasper-Area Adventure #3: Jug Rock

Jug Rock is a large sandstone rock formation that’s believed to have been created by glaciers during the Ice Age. The rock gets its name from the fact that it looks like a jug or pitcher. It’s a popular spot for hiking and picnicking.

Jasper-Area Adventure #4: Birdhouse Paradise of Bill Larkin

Address: 350 S Maple St, Jasper, IN 47546

Bill Larkin’s birdhouse paradise is a must-see for bird lovers. The property features more than 100 birdhouses, all of which were handcrafted by Larkin. It’s a beautiful and unique spot in Jasper.

Dr. Ted’s Musical Marvels is a quirky little shop that sells musical instruments and other oddities. The shop is owned by Ted McCoy, who is a bit of a local celebrity. He’s been featured on national television and in magazines. If you’re looking for something unique, this is the place to find it.
