The Town of Ferdinand has multiple community events every year. If you’re looking for something fun to do, these are great for the entire family. If you’re considering moving to the area, annual events in the Town of Ferdinand are a great way to get to know the area. Most events celebrate the area’s rich German and Catholic heritage.

The Ferdinand Christkindlmarkt takes place on the third full weekend of November each year. It offers over 200 lavishly decorated booths. Booths sell quality hand-created items, antiques, Christmas wares, and artwork. Other booths offer delicious regional food and drinks. Festival goers also enjoy live entertainment, free tours, free concerts, and more.

The 2018 Ferdinand Heimatfest offers amazing food, drinks, activities, and entertainment. The 2018 annual festival falls on June 15-16. Funds raised at the Heimatfest help out the Ferdinand Community Endowment and the Dubois County Community Foundation. Heimatfest celebrations are at the 18th Street Park. Adults have a blast on these summer nights with live entertainment in the German beer garden each festival evening.

Other festivals include Primitive Days and the GardenTour, among others. There’s even an annual town-wide yard sale every Spring and the much loved Herb & Garden Days. Both of these took place last month.
