Memorial Hospital and Heath Care Center in Jasper has been named in the Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals list. This hospital in Dubois County joins just eight other hospitals in Indiana to be named in this list. As for Indiana hospitals named, the list of top 100 rural hospitals includes:

Chartis Center for Rural Health’s Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals

Chartis Center for Rural Health unveiled the 2019 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals this month during the National Rural Health Association’s Rural Health Policy Institute conference. The Chartis Center for Rural Health list is considered one of the most significant designations of performance in the industry. The lists are based on data from the Hospital Strength INDEX® from iVantage Health Analytics.

The Hospital Strength INDEX® from iVantage Health Analytics leveraged 50 rural-relevant indicators across eight pillars. It offers a totally comprehensive and completely objective look at rural provider performance. The data from this index is used nationally by state offices of rural health. Plus, health systems and rural hospitals use it for feedback of their own rural hospital performance.

Across the nation, the top 100 hospitals includes 19 first-time Critical Access Hospitals and 24 first-time Rural & Community Hospitals. Indiana is among the top performing states for rural & community performance with a total of nine hospitals making the cut. Additionally, eight Wisconsin hospitals and seven Minnesota hospitals made the list.

The hospitals on this list are good at risk management, providing quality care, securing better outcomes, providing more patient satisfaction and fiscal responsibility.
